My black and white art, expressed through ink drawings, stems from a fascination with the reality that surrounds us and a desire to stop time and capture the beauty of the landscapes and spaces that inspire me. I have created three works representing significant places: a park in Leipzig, a view of an inner courtyard, also in Leipzig, and a hidden garden in Favignana, Sicily. Each drawing is a tribute to these natural and architectural settings which, through the contrast of light and dark, seem to be suspended outside of time.
For me, art is not just a reproduction of reality, but a reinterpretation that challenges perception. Every stroke of ink, every shade of black and white, seeks to express not only the visual aspect of the place, but also the atmosphere that reigns there, the emotion it evokes. The chiaroscuros that define form and depth give life to landscapes that are no longer simply real, but become visions out of time, almost floating dreams. For me, drawing these landscapes is an act of contemplation and meditation, a way of transforming the ordinary into something eternal, where reality and imagination merge.
